Lakes and fire storm Please wear my wings tonight And shield the plague of birds My voice screams for you
Edgy, that's the perfect word to describe Laurent. He couldn't help but feel as though he was being followed. It was a full moon tonight and he felt as though ever human and vampire would be on the lookout for him. Calm down, he thought to himself as he pulled the door to Starbucks open. No one's looking for someone they don't knows a werewolf. The smell of cinnamon and coffee made him feel a little better, it felt friendly and warm. It reminded him of all the stories his older siblings told him about his parents, their smiles and happiness. If only he could have really known them.
Walking up to the counter he looked over his shoulder in a non-suspicious tone. No one, no one seemed to be looking at him...or at least for him. Laurent ordered a plain black coffee and took a seat at an empty booth. Taking out his phone he looked, no messages. "No news is good news,
" Laurent sighed softly and put his phone back into his pocket.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Desiree picked up the steamy cup of coffee and carefully took a sip as to not burn her tongue as she always did. She was engrossed in a book she bought at the bookstore, it was on the best sellers list and well if everyone else though it was a good book she might as well read it. It was a mystery book something she loved, the suspense that kept on her edge every time she turned the page of the book.
Desiree took another sip of coffee and should have bought a cookie too seeing as she had a sweet tooth, maybe in a few minutes she would go buy a piece of chocolate cake or the lemon cake, that was good. She smiled as she read on the world she blocked out, it was just her and the book it so far was very good and she kept on turning the pages eager to know what would happen next.

Looking into his coffee, Laurent watched as the steam circled around the top where the lid would be. He never put lids on his coffee because he figured it was just a waste of plastic. The steam carried the rich smell of the liquid into the air and with it came a comforting smell. For some people the smell of coffee reminded them of their parents, or of a better time. Unfortunately Laurent had no special memories to incorporate, just the feelings of what he wished he had. I guess I'll have to make my own memories, he thought lightly to himself.
Wrapping his hand around the cup he felt the heat soaking through the thick styrofoam. The coffee was still too hot to drink, and for now he decided he liked just watching it. Laurent looked up from his dark drink and noticed a girl reading a book. It was a good book and he knew this much from prior readings, but it never really caught him enough to buy it. A soft smile turned on Laurent's face, "That's a good book, " he said in a friendly tone. "Have you read it before? "

Desiree looked up from reading by a voice and it sort of startled her so she jumped a bit and then shook her head. She looked up to see a guy around her age and she smiled "No I just bought it today but so far it is very good" Desiree said as she placed a bookmark to the page she stopped at and placed it on the table.
She took the cup of coffee and took a sip and then smiled up at him "Hi I'm Desiree I just moved here" she said rolling her eyes a bit. She said that because she knew he would ask if she was new here, everyone she had met so far did anyway.
