"No" she said a little too quickly, if she did tell him about the other night would he think she was crazy? And if so that vampire had said he would come and find her if she did tell someone so she just nodded meekly turning a bit pale. She just couldn't come to the fact that maybe vampires were real but werewolves, now this is all crazy talk.
"Are you trying to just scare me" she said playfully but you could hear a bit of fear in her tone. She just wanted badly to cry and tell him all about that awful night.

"I wish I could say I was playing around but...I'm not." Vance told her with all seriousness, he stopped now and faced her. "It's rather important. You should listen." He told her, it seemed like she was avoiding something. "The vampires and werewolves are against each other, vampires attack the werewolves and vice versa. I don't know where humans stand in this battle but I know there not safe. I want to tell you something but I'm afraid you'll run away from me." Vance didn't want that, just because he was a vampire didn't mean he couldn't have friends of another race.

Desiree stopped and looked up at him with a confused look so it was true, that guy the other night was a vampire. She shook her head "Why would I run away from you?" She asked still confused. But when she thought back to the night in the park she needed to know if it was Vance or night but she got a good look at the guy. "Uhh Vance were you at the park a few nights ago?" Desiree asked in a small voice.

"No, I wasn't. Why?" Vance didn't want to get off track, he needed to finish. Should he show her or should he tell her? "Do you want me to show you why I think you would run away?" He asked her, looking away for a bit. He could show her his fangs but then maybe that wouldn't be enough.

Desiree let out a sigh of relief that was good it wasn't him but then again would she run into that guy again, she hope she didn't. Show her? Show her what that he can turn into a bat? Things were getting a little weird, just a little. "Well if you turn into a bat then yeah maybe I'll run away" she said as she half laughed but it sounded strained, she always hated bats they wee nasty creepy looking things. Desiree looked at him and smiled "I won't run away promise" she said gently.

Vance smiled. "I can't do that...I don't think that is possible." He bit his lower lip and his fangs showed, they were quite long. Vance stared at her, wondering if she noticed. "That's it." He told her, pointing at his fangs.
"I'm a vampire, Desiree."

Desiree shook her head, its not possible it just can't be she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "So you really are a" she paused and looked up at him, sure enough he had two sharp teeth, she looked away remembering that awful vampire. "Are you you know bad?" She asked timidly not sure if he was or wasn't.

"I can be good. Just the werewolves bring the bad out of me that you don't want to see. I won't lie to you...I have killed before in a fight not for a blood. I don't regret it, it's the way of life. We fight, feed and kill. It's just the way it is for vampires." Vance explained, shaking his head, he looked at her, wondering what she was thinking. "I promise I won't feed on you, though." Vance smiled but he still felt a little uncomfortable.

Desiree frowned a bit vampires in the movies were scary and most of the time evil, when he said he wouldn't 'feed' on her she gulped maybe it was good at tell him about the other night but then again who would protect her if that vampire came to kill her, it was worth a try. "So how many vampires are in this town exactly?" She asked a little curious.

"I honestly couldn't tell you. I know about my family...but I've never met another vampire." Vance told her, wondering how many vampires were in this town. "Are you okay?" He asked her, not wanting her to fear him. "I'm not going to hurt you. I promise." He told her, gently.

Desiree hadn't noticed she started shaking and shook her head "No I'm fine" she said. She stared at the ground then sighed "I'm fine" she said again just to make sure she was and smiled up at him "So your whole family are...uh vampires?" She said trying to make sense of all this, it was as if she stepped right into the twilight zone.

"Yes. My sister doesn't act like one so you'll probably think your mistaken at first. She doesn't agree with all the violence. She hates the fact we fight. I see nothing wrong with it. It was how I was raised." Vance told him, he took a step away from her. "Should we continue on to the movies or should we end the..." He didn't know if he should call it a date or not so he let his voice trail off.

Vampires were raised to fight, what were they vampire soldiers or warriors? She tried not to laugh as she pictured that and shook her head "The movies sound like a good idea" she smiled. She started walking again and glanced back a little to see if he followed.

Vance quickly followed after her, he smiled as she seemed to have nothing against him for what he was. "I'm sorry if I scared you. I can't help it sometimes." He told her, looking down at her, smiling.

Desiree laughed "Don't worry its not you I'm afraid of" she said then bit her tongue she realized she still hadn't told him about that vampire. "Plus" she added quickly "You don't look scary at all" she laughed lightly.
